    World Outstanding Chinese Artist Award


    The aims of developing Art are to nourish young artists and build a more artistic atmosphere in society. It is an honour to have support from the Home Affairs Bureau so international music masters can be invited for Hong Kong String Orchestra. By exchanging different ideas, artistic techniques can be passed down to the new generation. 

    Every rewarded person here is the representatives in different aspects but we share the same belief, which is promoting art culture to the society.
    I wish music can help children build up confidence, bring joy and happiness to Hong Kong citizen, as well as show the love and beauty to the world.

    Conferred University Fellowship for the dedication to music education Yao Jue will lead HKSO and HKBU String Ensemble to present Side by Side Concert @Baptist University


    Over the long years, she has been dedicated to making music education accessible.


    On 20 October 2015 (Tuesday), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has conferred the title of University Fellowship to Yao in recognition of her significant contributions to the University and the community. Yao is the first violinist to receive the University Fellowship for her endeavor in nurturing music talents. In support of PolyU’s endeavors in promoting music, she served as the University’s Artist-in-Residence in 2014/2015. PolyU students and staff were coached by Ms Yao on performing techniques and the remarkable experience of sharing the stage with her has enriched their perspectives in arts and culture.

    The Orchestra directed by Yao Jue will present a University tour concert, Side by Side Concert @Baptist University on 7:30pm, 1 December 2015 at the Academic Community Hall of Hong Kong Baptist University. It aims to give joy of music to the University campus, provide opportunity to students to be involved in string music and HKSO through mentorship programme. Concert is free-of-charge to general public, HKSO encourages HKBU students, staff, and alumni, all music lovers, and all underprivileged groups that may have less chance to appreciate classical music, to come and enjoy the music night.

    Kick-off Ceremony and Community Concert of 2015-2018 HKSO “Jockey Club Power of Music Programme”

    Founded by the world-famous violinist Virtuoso Yao Jue, Hong Kong String Orchestra (HKSO) has received generous sponsorship from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for a 3-year community music programme entitled “Jockey Club Power of Music Programme”.

    HKSO is going to launch a Kick-off Ceremony and Community Concert at the
    Level 3, Landscape Deck, 1881 Heritage at 6pm, on Friday 27 November 2015.

     Collaborating with other different arts groups, inviting pop-stars to sing and perform, it will be a promising event for families to enjoy.

    Hong Kong Strong Orchestra - Music Performance at the 'National Day Reception to celebrate the 66th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China'


    Hong Kong String Orchestra, of which Ms Yao Jue is the Artistic Director, has performed at the ‘National Day Reception to celebrate the 66th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China’ last night.

    Besides the orchestra, renowned musician Mr Chiu Tsang Hei and young singer Celine Tsz Kwan Tam were responsible for piano accompany and solo respectively at the reception performance.

    New development of the Hong Kong String Orchestra


    Under the artistic direction of Ms Yao Jue, Hong Kong String Orchestra has entered a new era of development. Very delighted that the orchestra has recruited full team of musicians for the 2015-2017 Season.

    A warm welcome is herewith given to all the new members of the orchestra.

    In future, the HKSO is going to offer a more diverse programmes and in-depth training to the musicians. Large-scale concerts and mentorship programs will be organized together with different world class masetros, including Chinese contemporary composer and conductor, TAN Dun (譚盾) and Celloist QIN Li-wei (秦立巍) and more.

    Members will also participate in a concert tour comprising of over 50 community concerts and cross disciplinary art-jamming.
